      I was so excited to read these Bane Chronicles, but I must say I was slightly disappointed.  Maybe it was the lack of slaying demons or the lack Jace, Clary, Alec, Will, Tessa, or Jem, but I was not impressed.  It was decent.  It sort of showed why Magnus is banned from Peru. It had some humor.  It just was not as intense or as entertaining as The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices.  Being mostly a short story, I could understand less action and suspense and I would not say it was boring, but I am not sure it was deserving of Magnus's flair.  It was very amusing at times.
     (Spoiler) I found it very hard to watch Magnus fall in love with people that were not Alec and not even know who Alec was.  I do not regret reading it, but I am not sure if I will read the others.  I did enjoy the introduction of new characters that I hope to maybe see in future Mortal Instrument books and the back story to one character that was in a past book (City of Glass). 
     It mainly contains some anecdotes about a younger Magnus and some of his other Warlock friends in Peru.  I feel so awful when I write this.  I recommend reading it but not expecting an action-packed story. It was good, but not great.
